MY STORY

Granola was how we started our day when we were travelling. We woke as the sun rose outside our tent, in far away lands, and as we looked out over the natural beauty that surrounds you in those types of places, we enjoyed a bowl of granola.

We ate granola that came in languages we didn’t understand, with fruits we hadn’t heard of, clinging onto the dreams from the night before but excited for the adventures that lay ahead. We ate granola looking across the fjords of Lofoten towards the Norwegian mainland, marvelling at how our climate could be so mild while only a few miles away the mainland was locked in a frozen tundra. We enjoyed a bowl or a cheeky second while we shook the frost off the tent on the high plains by Son Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan, while wild horses welcomed the morning sun around us. Each adventure we had during our travels, the morning started with the same routine, a routine that we became accustomed to and cherished.

That routine has been interrupted dramatically and as we adapt to a new normal, we wanted something that could remind us of the joys of travel and our adventures before.

To our greatest fortune, granola came back into our lives - not by force or ambition, but, like the ingredients that go into it, naturally. Since granola reentered our lives during quarantine, every morning has started with a bowl. And each day, the same as when we were travelling, the granola has filled us up, not just with nourishment but with a refreshing excitement for the day that has helped us face these troubling times with a smile and even, dare we say it, hope.

It’s with great humility and good will that we're excited to make our granola available to you as well. We sincerely wish that it can bring the same benefits to you and your family as it has to us, whether that’s a memory of adventures had, or a hope for adventures to come.

MORE ABOUT THE MAKING

Transparent Logo2 .png

Since embarking on my granola making journey my main aspect I cared greatly about was producing a healthy, low sugar granola whilst operating as sustainably as possible. My aim is to use ingredients and packaging that are organic and environmentally friendly.

I have learnt many things along the way, for example, dried apricots are orange because they are sulphur treated. So whilst the apricots I use may look darker in colour they are organic and unsulphured.

I am very conscious about creating a granola that is as low sugar as possible, not easy for a food notorious for being the opposite! I was initially nervous about eliminating sugar but the recipe I have created uses no added refined sugars without sacrificing taste.

Creating Granola by Harri has brought me a lot of enjoyment and I am really excited to share this with you!
